Lawrence Tanenbaum is from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, where he served as an Associate Professor of Radiology, Director of MRI, CT and Outpatient / Advanced Imaging Development since 2008. Prior to 2008, Dr. Tanenbaum spent over 20 years in the private practice of Radiology at the JFK Medical Center / New Jersey Neuroscience Institute as the Director of MRI, CT and Neuroradiology. There, Dr. Tanenbaum grew his outpatient imaging practice into one of the best known and respected in the industry, recognized for quality and the translation of advanced technology into practice.1
Dr. Tanenbaum is a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology and long term member of the Radiological Society of North America (“RSNA”). He is the current President of the Eastern Society of Neuroradiology, past President of the national Clinical Magnetic Resonance and former Editor in Chief of its Journal “Vision.” He is a member of the Roster of Distinguished Scientific Advisors of the RSNA as well as a number of panels and committees of the American College of Radiology. Dr. Tanenbaum is a member of the editorial boards of several journals and educational organizations and a regular reviewer for several scientific journals.2
Dr. Tanenbaum is a long term collaborator with the medical imaging industry, with interests in developing applications of contrast agents, MR, CT and advanced rendering in the clinical practice of medicine focusing on efficiency, radiation dose appropriateness and physiologic imaging. Dr. Tanenbaum has authored approximately 100 scholarly and peer reviewed articles, continues to chair educational and academic meetings and has delivered over 1500 invited lectures around the world.3
