Today, we’re excited to introduce the Ezra COVID 360, a low-dose CT scan of the lungs to look for lung damage caused by Covid-19, paired with an antibody blood test to check for IgM and IgG antibodies. This new plan is designed for individuals who want to understand the potential long-term impact of Covid-19 on their lungs and check their antibody status.
Covid-19 can affect many parts of your body (especially your lungs), and a low-dose CT scan is one of the best noninvasive tools to look for lung effects. At Ezra, we’ve worked tirelessly with our radiologists over the past three months to offer this “look inside your lungs” while minimizing ionizing radiation exposure (0.3-0.5 mSv – about the same radiation exposure as an airplane flight from coast-to-coast).
If you’ve had the SAR-CoV-2 virus (which causes the infectious disease known as Covid-19), your immune system and white blood cells can form antibodies against the virus. Antibodies made early in an infection are called IgM antibodies; antibodies made later are called IgG antibodies. In an individual with a healthy immune system, we can help check if you have these types of Covid-19 antibodies.
We’ve partnered with a leading CLIA, CAP, and NYS DOH lab based in the United States to offer a proprietary Covid-19 IgG/IgM ELISA Antibody Test. The test has been validated under a rigorous IRB-approved protocol that included symptomatic and asymptomatic patients, and individuals presumed to not have Covid-19. This test is being used under FDA EUA.
The antibody test performance (determined for patients tested at least 7 days after initial symptoms):
Sensitivity: 98.3%
Specificity: 98.8%
Positive Predictive Value: 98.3%
Negative Predictive Value: 98.8%
Neither of these tests – the low-dose CT or blood antibody test – are meant to diagnose Covid-19. They are designed to show you the effects the virus might have had on your health, and to check your antibody status. There are also no evidence-based treatments for post-Covid-19 effects, but there are general lifestyle modifications you can make in order to minimize the virus’s effect on your lungs and body – for example, not smoking.
Ezra COVID 360 will be available for $390 (at-cost for Ezra) in New York City starting June 1st, and we’re working tirelessly to bring the plan to California in the upcoming weeks. You can learn more about the plan and sign up here.
We’re also offering 50 free plans to medical providers and first responders who have been on the frontlines of Covid-19. If you’re a medical provider or first responder, please send an email here with “Provider Responder” in the subject line and our team will get back to you within 24 hours.
