Introducing the Ezra Prostate MRI with IV contrast

Introducing the Ezra Prostate MRI with IV contrast

Ever since we started Ezra two years ago, many of our male members have asked for help getting a prostate MRI with IV contrast. Most often, this was because they were told by their own urologists to get a prostate MRI with IV contrast due to an elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test or urinary symptoms.

Unfortunately in our current health system, most of the time men have to first get a prostate biopsy before their health insurance will cover a Prostate MRI with IV contrast. This is backwards because a prostate biopsy has notable risks (infection, bleeding and sometimes, erectile dysfunction).

Our mission at Ezra is to detect cancer early for everyone, with high sensitivity and specificity. Sometimes this means being able to offer a Prostate MRI with IV contrast. Therefore, starting today at our New York sites, Ezra is empowering men who have elevated prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels (greater than or equal to 4.0 ng/mL) or urinary symptoms (eg. frequency, hesitancy, dribbling, incontinence) to get a Prostate MRI with IV contrast.

As with all medical tests and procedures, there are benefits and risks with getting a Prostate MRI with IV contrast. Your Ezra Medical Provider will assess you and your medical history to help you determine the best prostate imaging study for you. Sign up today by clicking here.
