What is an MRI scan?

MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. An MRI machine is a giant magnet that uses radio waves to take pictures of your body’s organs and structures. It’s safe, as long as you don’t have any metallic implants that are incompatible with MRI scanning (e.g. a pacemaker or certain metallic orthopedic implants). Because of the magnetic field, you may not wear any jewelry or clothing that have metallic components during your MRI.

Are MRI scans safe?

Yes, MRI scans have been around since the 1980s and have a safe track record (and added bonus: pain-free). Unlike other medical imaging procedures such as CT (CAT scan) and X-ray, MRI scans don’t expose you to harmful radiation.

Why does Ezra use MRI & CT?

MRI’s and CT scans are good as different types of imagery. MRI scans better evaluate the flow of bodily fluids, provide better soft-tissue contrast, and can image tissue near bones. CT scans are preferred for identifying specific cancers, such as lung cancer. Ezra uses both to provide the most comprehensive full body screening.

Which Ezra Scan is best for me?

Ezra offers three plan options designed to cater to your needs. Each plan includes a comprehensive screening of the brain, kidneys, adrenal glands, thyroid, bladder, gallbladder, ovaries, pancreas, uterus, spleen, prostate, and liver.

Here are the differences:

Full Body Flash Scan: This is our quickest and most affordable full body scan. It is a 30-minute scan that uses Ezra’s exclusive Ezra Flash AI technology to enhance MRI images acquired at faster speeds.

Full Body Scan: This is our most popular scan option. It is a 60-minute MRI scan that also includes spine imaging.

Full Body Plus Scan: This plan includes the Full Body Scan plus a 5-minute Low Dose Chest CT Scan. The additional scan screens the lungs for abnormalities or nodules. Availability of plan options may vary by location.

Some locations may offer only the Full Body scan. Scan options can be confirmed on the Ezra portal.
