Low-dose chest CT
Info Icon

Low-dose chest CT

Low-dose chest CT is the gold standard for lung cancer screening according to the United States Preventive Services Taskforce.

A recent meta-analysis concluded that MRI is inferior to CT for identifying early-stage lung cancer.

The downside of a low-dose chest CT is that it uses ionizing radiation. We recommend that you speak with your medical provider about your individual risk/benefit ratio for doing a low-dose CT scan.

Heart CT Scan
Info Icon

Heart CT scan (coronary calcium scan)

A calcium-score screening heart scan (coronary calcium scan) uses low-dose CT to detect calcium deposits in the coronary arteries of your heart. A higher coronary calcium score suggests you have a higher chance of significant narrowing in the coronary arteries and a higher risk of future heart attack.

You should consider a calcium scan if you are between ages 40-70 and at increased risk for heart disease but do not have symptoms.

The downside of a low-dose CT heart scan is that it uses ionizing radiation. We recommend that you speak with your medical provider about your individual risk/benefit ratio for doing a CT scan.

Radiologists

Ezra uses specialized, board-certified, expert radiologists to analyze your images. Each Ezra Full Body Plus scan is analyzed by 3 radiologists:

Neuro Radiologist: a radiologist specialized in reading MRI images of the brain, neck, and spine.

Body Radiologist: a radiologist specialized in reading MRI images of the abdomen and pelvis.

CT Radiologist: a radiologist specialized in reading CT images. Our CT radiologists also use specialized software to accurately calculate the coronary calcium score in the Ezra heart scan.
