Low radiation, high-impact
Low dose lung CT which is used for lung cancer screening uses ~1–3 mSv, or roughly half the radiation of a standard chest CT. And because our study combines lung screening and CAC, exposure is about half of having those two procedures separately.
CAC scoring provides a direct measure of cardiovascular risk, and lung screening can detect signs of cancers before symptoms appear-so you can follow up and take action as early as possible.
We only recommend scans to those whose profile suggests potential benefit from early detection.
